The main character in All's Well That Ends Well is the intrepid young Helena who pursues her fortune (and her future husband) across Europe. The client asked that the poster image feature Seana McKenna, cast as Helena's guardian, the Countess of Roussillon. We proposed a carrier pigeon as a metaphor for the Countess releasing Helena out into the world. A knew a gentleman here in Stratford who raises and races pigeons, and he was happy to work with us. When Seana released the birds, one by one, they flew right back into their aviary. David Cooper shot using a motor drive, producing an image that calls to mind the animal motion studies of Eadweard Muybridge.
