Punch & Judy worked with collage artist Emily Cooper to create a series of photo-based illustrations for Theatre Calgary's 2010-11 season.

Cutting images apart and reassembling them gave One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest a surreal sense of distortion appropriate to the story. We imagined McMurphy's brain as a bird's nest, disturbingly (and comically) disconnected from his head.

For The Drowsy Chaperone, a musical about jazz-age musicals and their fans, Emily used images scanned from Scott's collection of vintage theatre photographs. Musical numbers in the show are conjured from old Broadway musical recordings – so we created a composition that emanates from the horn of an old gramophone. We framed our figures with red velvet curtains to reinforce the feeling of theatrical nostalgia.
